Savya Vats

Computer Science at UCLA

I’m a Computer Science student at UCLA interested in software engineering, machine learning, and quantitative problem solving. My work includes deep learning research for medical imaging at Brown University and AI agents that query the web in real time. Long term, I want to build backend infrastructure and large-scale software systems.

New York City and Los Angeles

About me

My main interest is software engineering, especially backend systems and infrastructure.

I’m a Computer Science student at UCLA’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering. I’m originally from the Greater NYC area. Before UCLA, I spent several years on deep-learning research and programmed robots for FIRST Robotics.

At Brown University Health, I research deep learning for breast cancer imaging. Outside research, I’m interested in how large software systems are built and maintained. I’m also in BSE’s Quantitative Finance fellowship at UCLA.
